Hello, everyone. I hope you're all having a good day. I was just talking with a new friend, and she made me want to do 'that' again... By which I mean, share fairy tales! My home has so many fairy tales, and I love telling them to others. So if you'd like to hear one, just say so, and I'll spin a story with you!

She began to argue with the messenger, but her father demanded her to be quiet, for in trying to help she was bringing shame to their family. All the men would have to report in the next day, so Mulan was in despair. But then... an idea came to her! She stole her father's sword, cut off her long hair, and ran away to join the army. She would take her father's place, pretending to be a man! As the ghosts of her ancestors watched her bravery, they sent her a spiritual guide, a mystical small dragon to aide in her attempt to blend in with men. This was very important, for if anyone found out she was a woman, her defiance would certainly get her killed.

Wait, really? What's up with their standards? If anyone can fight, then who cares about gender?

They thought women were much weaker and less smart than men... when really, the men thinking this way were the dumb ones.

Mulan came up with a false name, Ping, and soon she proved that her creativity helped the army overcome tough challenges. She made many friends in the army, and their leader, Shang, also took a shining to her. Once their training was over, they set out to face off against their great enemy, the Hun. The Hun had devastated many villages, leaving no mercy, and had even killed Shang's father. Their aim was to take over the entire country, and kill the Emperor. With the aide of the magic dragon, Mulan figured out where the Hun where heading, and the army went towards snowy mountains. Then they were ambushed, by the Hun, led by the bloodthirsty Shan Yu!

So what happened next? Did Mulan fight that Shan Yu?

She saw Shang fighting Shan Yu, and she jumped into the fight, saving his life! But as a result, she was deeply wounded! Then, with her clever thinking, knowing they were outnumbered, she used her dragon to cause a mighty avalanche to fall upon the Hun army! All of the evil soldiers were buried in the snow, and everyone believed the war was over. But when Mulan's wound was checked... her real body was exposed! Everyone in the army discovered she was a woman... and that warranted execution.

What? What kind of thanks for that? She basically won the war for them!

As the leader, it was up to Shang to execute her... but instead, he spared her life, since she had saved his life. The army left without her in order to tell the rest of the land the good news about the Hun's defeat. They would go to the emperor and tell him of their victory, but not speak of Mulan. But as Mulan sat in the snow with her sadness... she realized something was off. All of the other Hun were buried and defeated, but one was missing... Shang Yu! Not only was he still alive, but he was going to head for the emperor to kill him!

Wait, how'd Mulan know Shang Yu wasn't buried? It sounded before like he was caught in that avalanche!

While Mulan had been left behind, she saw Shang Yu climb out of the snow! His strength was really incredible!

Mulan raced to find the army, which was now in the city as they headed toward the Emperor. She tried to tell them about Shang Yu, but no one believed her, since she had already lied. Even worse, Shang Yu attacked! He grabbed the Emperor, and held him hostage within his own palace. Everyone was afraid to go inside, lest the Emperor be harmed, but Mulan rallied her friends from the army! They disguised themselves as women to sneak inside the palace, since Shang Yu wouldn't guess women could be fighters.

It certainly did! They found Shang Yu and the Emperor, and Mulan challenged Shang Yu to a one on one fight. Shang Yu cowardly tried to use the Emperor as a shield, but Mulan took up her blade from the army, and fought him with courage - a trait that knows no gender. She soundly defeated her enemy, and he fell from the highest room in the palace. The Emperor thanked her for her bravery, and gave her Shang Yu's sword as a sign of her honor.

She returned home, and gave the sword to her father, telling him that she had brought honor to the family. Her father embraced her, saying that the greatest honor was to have her as a daughter. As for Shan, the man who's life she had saved... he too came to her home, and asked for her hand in marriage.

Thus, Mulan forever changed how the land saw women, and earned far more than honor in her adventures... and they all lied happily ever after.
