11 (The Cactus Kid)

[So, Minnie is still in/just getting out of Ilex forest. But on the way, she's picked up a few things... Mickey, her Azumarril, is playing with the Pokegear, which, of course, turns on. Now you get to see Minnie doing some... strange things.

She seems to have gotten a hold of some vines, sticks, and leaves. She ties the vine around her hips, then ties to to a leaf, so that the leaf flops on her rear. She appears to give this some thought, then shakes her head, taking off the leaf, and replacing it with a stick. Again, stops to think... no, simply won't do. Unties the stick, then the vines... then reties the vines, around the hips, and now lets a long string of it hang behind her. Hips give a wiggle... nope, still doesn't satisfy her. She takes off the vines, and sits, with a little sigh.]

It won't do, it won't do at all... Nothing can really replace my tail. You don't know what you'll miss until it's gone.

[Then she looks up, seeing the Pokegear on. Oh well, may as well address the audience.]

Hm... For anyone else out there who weren't humans before coming here, what's the most you miss about being... whatever you were? I'm supposed to be a mouse, and this body is nice and everything... but, sometimes, oh, I so dreadfully miss my tail!

((OOC: i swear this is game-plot-relevant. |D;; ))

Heh.

So is everyone from your world like you?

Just about, but we know some humans too. My husband is also a mouse, our best friends are ducks and dogs, but the one who taught me how to use magic was a human.

[Yoko scratches her chin with her thumb thoughtfully.]

Have you always gotten along with humans? "You" as a race, I mean.

Why yes, of course we have. Why wouldn't we?

I was just curious. Humans and Beastmen used to be at war years ago.

[Yoko inhales, as if to begin a long story.]

Thousands of years ago, humanity came to a critical existence. The thriving--we assume--civilization was attacked by an alien race who feared beings with spiral power, found in their double-helical DNA, under the theory that if enough of that power was gathered in one place, all of existence would end.

A warrior stood to meet them, but countless battle after battle left him in despair. He surrendered and returned to the planet, taking rule as the Spiral King and protecting the humans of the planet by having them taking to underground life, creating Beastmen to aid him in the effort.

Unfortunately what started as good will turned into a tyranny, as the power got to his head, and his army of Beastmen were given the task of keeping us underground. Keep humans oppressed for so long, though, and they're bound to make a break through...

[Listens, with some horror and sadness.]

Oh... that's so terrible, I'm so sorry.
