Hello everyone! I do hope you're all having a good day. I just thought I'd ask for your time, and ask for your opinion.

[She shuffles around behind the curtain...]

Sometime in the fall, once Ventus returns here to Goldenrod, we'll be holding a knighting ceremony for him and Xion. Since I am royalty, I'll be knighting them, along with some real knights we have here. And I figured I should dress up nicely, so... what do you think?

[She pulls back the curtain, and steps out...

~~Though her hair is still white from the last event, sob. and ignore the extra hand.~~ She smiles, grabbing her dress and swishing it around.]

I'm still not sure... but isn't it fun, getting all dressed up? If I can't wear it to the knighting ceremony, it might make for a good Halloween costume... though it seems a bit silly for a queen to have a princess costume, heeheehee!

Why? How old are you now?

... Ah, pardon me. That is not something one is supposed to ask a lady.

Oh no, it's quite all right. I know by now my world has a much different time rate then the rest of you. Sometimes it's even easy to lose track of how old we are, but I am certain I'm over eighty.

How interesting... could the way time flows and people age in your world of origin be similar to what happens on Evron? According to my calculations, my age is somewhere around eighty Earth years as well.

But I digress. Your dress is splendid, Minnie. There is no doubt in my mind that your subjects will be honored by your stately presence. If I may ask, why knight them now? Have they accomplished something important?

Well, it kind of spiraled out of a conversation a while ago... You see, They've been learning how to defend themselves, and we were congratulated them on how far they've come since they arrived. We talked about our home worlds, and I brought up knights, and... things sort of spiraled. But I feel they deserve the title.

Besides, this sort of ceremony would really show everyone who tight of a family we are, and how we shall always battle the forces of darkness, since we have such wonderful people willing to fight for us.

I am not familiar with those people, but I trust your judgement enough to know that their exploits deserve to be celebrated.

Are their stories ones you can share, Minnie?

Hm... I suppose, but just in case...

[She turns on the filter, and takes a seat.]

Xion and Ventus are both children, even by our standards. But they've both gone through unbelievable suffering. Ventus was experimented on, lost his memory, and was used as a tool by those he trusted. And Xion... she found out she wasn't a 'real' person, and was created to be a weapon, another experiment.

[Gorthan closes his eyes gravely.]

That is horrible, Minnie... I am very sorry.

[It's not like Gorthan doesn't know how to show sympathy... it's just that he never quite knows what to say once said sympathy is out there. And when he wonders why he does that, he has to remind himself that he's an Evronian.]

Do you think... do you think that even with that sort of past, they still have a chance at happiness?

[Despite the sad pasts, Minnie is still smiling.]

Of course I do. They've risen above those trials, and proved themselves long since their pasts. Our past may have had some hand in who we are... but it does not define us. If that wasn't true, I'd still be a bratty and selfish princess. But that's not what people think of me as, do they?

[That is truly meaningful, and Gorthan nods, the simple gesture hiding how much Minnie's words have actually affected him. Not only does it mean that he, too, could find redemption if he wanted to, but it also means that there is hope for his children, universes away.]

... It has just occurred to me, Minnie. I miss you greatly.

[She blinks a little, surprised to hear that, but of course she winds up smiling.]

Then I'll have to fix that, now won't I?

[He blinks a little at what she seems to be suggesting.]

You don't have to, Minnie. Just talking to you like this is enough to brighten my day. But I do wish I could be present at your ceremony, unless it is a private event.

Not at all. It's next week, everyone's invited. and even if you can't make it, I could take time off to come see you before I head back to Olivine.
