Oh, everyone, I can't believe I almost forgot! I was battling some wild Pokemon with Scrooge here, and then they used Attract, and that reminded me about next month - Valentine's Day! With the training and helping birthdays, I really lost track of time. But now that I remembered, I'm back on track, and I'm ready to get started. So if you want some Valentine's chocolate, just let me know, and I'll start cooking!

[Scrooge calmly lands on her shoulder, and nudges her cheek with a wing.]

... Oh! That's right! Some people here might not know what Valentine's Day even is! [She looks back the Pokegear now doubly excited.] Why, it'll be their first Valentine's Day! Heeheehee! it's a special holiday on February 14th, next month! It's a day to celebrate love and romance... You make special chocolates for those you hold closest in your heart, and if you have a sweetheart, you spend the day doing wonderfully romantic things. it's one of my favorite holidays~!

[That's probably one of the best questions to ask if you wanted to get Minnie to blush. It's not even just her cheeks that go red - her entire face, her ears, you'd swear she was ready to blow off steam.]

...got down on one knee? [Now that's a curious phrase. And it sounds important. WHAT DOES IT MEAN??]

[She gushes on about it for a few more moments before realizing he said something.]

... Huh? Oh, that's tradition! ... At least in my world. In order to propose, the man gets down on one knee and offers the ring.

[Leave it to Minnie to get sidetracked when it comes to Mickey.]

So...it has some sort of meaning behind it? [He gets the ring bit, but the gesture's something completely new to him.]

[She gives this some thought.]

... It's one of those traditions that's been done for so long that people have forgotten just why it's done. It's just thought of as the right thing to do. But everyone in my kingdom knows what will happen when a man gets down on one knee. Even just seeing them go down is enough to make a girl gasp.

If I had to guess why... I'd say it's like a knight vowing to protect his precious princess!

So it's supposed to...mimic the act of swearing fealty? Promising you'll protect them at all costs, or something like that?

That's I think. And the King did go on and on about how much he wanted to protect me... He had a bit of trouble saying his real feelings at first, but he got them out.

But proposing and marriage is more than just protection. It's about why you want to be with them for the rest of their life.

I...think I understand now. [It would make sense, in an ironic sort of way. He doesn't mind, though.]

Is it common for someone to ask for another's hand on Valentine's Day? [Minnie hadn't said anything, but he wants to make sure.]

It's very common! Why, that would be one of the most romantic proposals ever!
